Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves #34

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog (we modified it to include some more stuff), showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

The end of the week was exhausting. So exhausting that I cannot even remember what I did in the beginning. I've basically been dead for two days. There was this celebration thing which celebrates the upcoming end of 12th Grade and it involves going around on a lorry and throwing candy. That may sound like fun but when you're surrounding by kids screaming on top of their lungs you end up with a headache and while everyone else probably had a good time you end up pissed off at the world. I DONT LIKE CROWDS AND NOISES. Sorry. Rant over. :P Vacations started so I feel better. More time to read and get stuff done! YAY! This week over at The Social Potato, I reviewed The Fifty-Seven Lives of Alex Wayfare by M.G. Buehrlen. It was a fairly good read in spite of the heaps of problems it had. Read my review here. We also wrote letters to our Valentines (so I got to write two!) and you can check those out here.

Well this week I had a little bit less stress. My Valentines was actually really cute and romantic and I loved it :) I hope you guys had a good time (even if you didn't have a date ect.) I actually hate Valentines day as it's stupid and pointless but I guess it can be cute sometimes... I think the worse thing this week was being on a train for an hour and a half just to find out that Panic didn't sync onto my kindle!! I was more than annoyed but I ended up starting And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard and it's a nice little read.

Cover of the Week
It should be illegal for so many gorgeous covers to be revealed in one week. I AM NOT KIDDING. WE EVEN REVEALED 2 on the blog! I hate choosing but my lazy ass is making me choose so I picked this one. The color is so vibrant and.. it makes me want to pick up the second book in the trilogy so that I'll be ready when it's time to buy this one. I mean wouldn't you buy this one JUST to stare at the cover? No? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Paulina's Haul
Nearly an adult and yet I still get book bans from my mom -.- So I can't buy books until I get paid next week! Pretty sure I will go on a book shopping spree...
But I did get these pretties from NetGalley so I'm pretty happy :-)

  1. I don't care much about Valentine either. I think it's too commercial, but I still had a wonderful day :D I'm happy you survived ;) Ruin and rising is SO GORGEOUS. I love it and can't wait to adore it in real life. Happy reading with The winner's curse, everyone is raving about it!

  3. Valentine's Day is just a big pile of ...do-do. lol I mean it can even be shortened to VD. With a color scheme of red and pink? Ick! Not a good visual. I so need to go to the store though and stock up on the sale candy. Especially the candy hearts. Love those!

I'm with you, Rashika, on the crowds and noise. Hate them! Glad it's over and you can relax. :)

    Have a great week!

My husband and I don't do the whole big deal about Valentines Day, we do something for the kids and that's it. Enjoy all the new books.

  6. The Ruin and Rising cover is seriously amazing. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on that book. And yes! It should be illegal for cover reveals to all happen at the same time (what is up with that?) - I can't ever keep up. :P

  7. I cannot deal with large crowds and loads of noisy people… the other half and me always end up arguing about New Years Eve when I just want to stay at home with a good book and he wants to join the large crowds in London. Agree with your 10 blogger problems, definitely the time factor involved. I take it a bit more easy on the pressure, but look at other blogs as well and always think 'oh, that looks so nice, how do they do that…' etc. Or so many followers. Ok, I'm a new blogger and getting there I suppose. I love getting to 'speak' to all the other bloggers, made already great friends. And so far did not had unpleasant experience with authors… I guess that would upset me as well, as I'm just a humble reader.

  8. Surrounded by screaming kids throwing things? Um yeah, I can see where that would be headache inducing. :)

Nice 10 blogger problems post, agree w/ a lot of those. Blogging can be a pain in the #$# but for some reason we still do it... :)

  9. It's like no one understands. Everyone had the time of their lives and they were all talking about how they would remember this for the rest of their lives and I am pretty sure my brain will bury that memory.. traumatizing stuff. *shudders*

It CAN be a pain in the ass, especially if you're running short on time but in the end, its SO FUN!

  10. I CANNOT EITHER. Oh god it's my worst nightmare. I never go out on New Years Eve and probably wouldn't even if someone begged me to go with them. I cannot handle that. I'd come back half way in tears because I'd be so frustrated. :P

  11. ISN'T IT? I think it's my favorite cover. I keep on wanting to touch the screen... thinking that I might actually be able to feel it. I KNOW. I can barely keep track of all the ones that take place in the YA world. I have no clue what's going on with the adult (and I don't care much for new adult :P) world.

  12. I LOVE CANDY HEARTS TOO. They don't sell them hear so all I remember is gorging on them when I was a child. I LOVED reading the notes on them.. even if they were cheesy :P

I know.. I took friday off because I couldn't deal with it (and I wanted to read :P :P)

  14. I am glad you had a great time, Mel! :)
I cannot wait to run my hands over R&R. :P I mean I can imagine how satisfying that would be ^_^
Everyone is also heartbroken about The Winner's Curse. So even though I have a eARC, I am not going to read it :P
