The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog (we modified it to include some more stuff), showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
We are looking for someone to add to the blog, if you're interested please sign up here
This is just an 'in advance notice' and we'll probably mention it again during next weeks Sunday Post but next Monday and Tuesday (30th September and 1st October) we will be spamming you guys. We have tons of old reviews that we just want to put on our blog and we've been leaving mondays for that but there are so many other things we want to do and it seems like it would be a better idea to post all our old reviews and get it over with. Thanks for understanding.
With all that past us... What kind of reader are you??? Check this link out (its full of dogs and cats.. you HAVE to check it out)
Now for the cover reveals for the week, there weren't that many (or we missed them) but here is what we found (with the courtesy of Cuddlebuggery's facebook page).
So this week's Sunday Post is going to be rather long because there are tons of things to discuss. Well one thing... really. The new Goodreads policy. For those of you who don't know, what Goodreads has basically done is that they are going to take down reviews and shelves that comment on the author's behavior. There are many people whose reviews are being taken down and are now completely gone. I haven't actually been affected directly but so many of the people whose opinions mean so much to be me are being affected. It's extremely depressing. Goodreads used to be so much better but now it is no longer about the readers who go there to interact and express their opinions but about the authors. So unless the authors are happy no one else is going to be. That is not to say there aren't fabulous authors who support us (thank god for that). Reviews aren't even meant for the authors! They are meant for readers! They are meant for us to read and decide whether we want to read that book or not. I for one would like to know if the author has misbehaved with reviewers before I pick up their book. If they cannot respect us, then I don't want to waste my money (that I spend so much time saving up) on their books. Why is Goodreads doing this to us? Don't we matter? Well if you guys want to rant about it with us.. GO AHEAD!
~Rant Over~

I couldn't agree more about Goodreads. It's just sad. Enjoy the amazing haul of books.

She-Hulk Diaries? That looks like a lot of fun! Sorry to hear about the Goodreads stuff- I've heard a bit about that but I'm not as familiar w/ it as I might be if I had more reviews there. I'm on Goodreads but don't always put my reviews there even tho I should. :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway have a good week.
That's the reason I bought it, plus I like the author :D It sounds like it'll be fun. Yeah I started reviewing there before I moved onto a blog so it's really saddening :/
ReplyDeleteSeriously :/ it's just heartbreaking they don't care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenea :)
