Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves #37

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog (we modified it to include some more stuff), showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

So I have mocks next week (which are basically messed up exams with the purpose of giving us a look at how the real ones are like) and I am shifting into study mode which is no fun because that means there won't be enough time for me to read and that is just heartbreaking. I also spent some time on saturday with my books but all the fun was drained out of that when I discovered I had lost my copy of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. After a painful 3 hours I ended up finding it so my story DID have an HEA. Anyway, this week over at The Social Potato, I reviewed Dark Days by Kate Ormand.

I don't have any exammmssssssss I just have coursework! But I feel for all of you doing the silly exams as I went through that stress for most of my life (failed last year for the first time). I still haven't found my cat... Although I know where she is; a lovely guy sent me a picture of her and the street he saw my kitty and all the neighbors have seen her but I just can't catch her! But at least I know that she's out there alive. And apart from that my life has been super boring and nothing exciting has happened :(

Cover of the Week
I know there were plenty of cover revealed this week but this one was my highlight because a) I LOVE THE CHARLEY DAVIDSON SERIES and b) I hadn't known there was going to be a 7th book so you can imagine how ecstatic this cover reveal made me.

  1. Paulina, I'm happy you at least have some news about your cat and I hope you're able to catch her! Happy reading with all the books you got :) The winner's curse looks so good.

  2. I I think I'm the only one who hasn't got The Winner's Curse this week. It's just that I'm kinda scared...hype and all that, y'know?

  3. Sounds like a stressful week, Rashika. Good luck with the studying. I loved The Winner's Curse but am not familiar with the other books you got. Come see what I added to my stacks at Inside of a Dog and Mx. Martin Teaches Media. Happy reading!

  6. Good luck with your exams and course work.

I had a similar experience with a book recently. Rashika. I had purchased the 2nd book in the Ashfall series by Mike Mullin and couldn't find the first book. I searched high and low, my home is very small and couldn't find it. I feared that I had taken it to Half Price BookS! But after a quick call to my sister and I found that she still had my copy and she loaned it to a friend of hers. This book is making the rounds. It's set in Iowa/Illiois very close to where my sister and I live. Sometimes it is a little TOO real.

  11. Yeah I know a handful of people did get burned by the hype but I am not too worried at the moment because I did enjoy The Shadow Society by Marie Rutkoski so I am hoping this one will work out for me too :)

  12. That's my reaction. Ugh.. I'd comfort myself by saying it's the last time I am ever going to give exams but that's not true. I am sure college will be the same.. except with a heavier workload.

The Lost Sisterhood does have a nice look doesn't it?? :)

  20. I could be wrong but I get a strong feeling I am going to love them both. Written in Red is my kind of book and I absolutely adore Urban Fantasy so I really hope it works out for me.

As for the Winner's Curse, I enjoyed Marie's YA debut so I am pretty sure I'll like The Winner's Curse as well but even if I don't... it looks so pretty on my shelf :P
